Terms of Service
Last updated: April 19, 2026
Agreement
By using DelveIO, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
DelveIO is an independent personal project. When this document says "we," "us," or "our," it means the operator of DelveIO. When it says "you" or "your," it means the person using the website or the addon.
What DelveIO is
DelveIO is a free companion service for World of Warcraft's Delves content. It has two parts:
- The website at www.delveio.dev, which provides a public leaderboard, character profiles, search, and account tools
- The DelveIO addon, distributed via CurseForge, which displays scores inside the game
DelveIO is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Blizzard Entertainment. World of Warcraft and related trademarks belong to Blizzard.
Your appearance on DelveIO
Your character can appear on DelveIO in two ways.
If you sign in and sync your characters. When you sign in with Battle.net via OAuth, you can sync characters from your account, manage visibility, set a main character, and adjust preferences. By signing in, you confirm that:
- You own the Battle.net account you connect, or you are using it with its rightful owner's explicit permission
- You are old enough to use Battle.net under Blizzard's rules for your region (13+ in the United States, 16+ in most EU member states, or the minimum age required by your local law, whichever is higher)
- The data you sync belongs to the characters on that account
You are responsible for anything done through your connected account. If you believe your account has been compromised, email support@delveio.dev and we will disable it pending resolution.
If your character is discovered from public data. We may add characters to the leaderboard from publicly available Blizzard sources, such as the Mythic+ leaderboard, without requiring the player to sign in. This is how competitive leaderboards of this kind typically work, and it is the same approach used by sites like Raider.IO.
If your character was discovered this way and you want it hidden or removed, you have two options:
- Sign in to DelveIO with the Battle.net account that owns the character. Once you claim the character, you can hide it or manage it from your settings page.
- Email support@delveio.dev and we will hide or delete the character within 30 days.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Impersonate another player or misrepresent a character's identity
- Scrape, crawl, or automate requests against the website or API beyond what the DelveIO addon does as part of its normal function
- Attempt to bypass rate limits, access controls, or authentication on any part of DelveIO
- Probe for, exploit, or publicly disclose security vulnerabilities without first giving us a reasonable chance to fix them (email support@delveio.dev)
- Use DelveIO to harass other players, including misuse of the leaderboard, character profiles, or in-game addon
- Redistribute a modified copy of the DelveIO addon under the "DelveIO" name or in a way that would confuse users about its origin
- Use the service in a way that violates Blizzard's Battle.net API Terms of Service or any applicable law
We reserve the right to remove characters, hide profiles, or disable accounts that we reasonably believe are engaged in any of the above, at our sole discretion.
Your data
How we collect, use, and share data is described in our Privacy Policy. By using DelveIO, you agree to that policy.
Characters that appear on DelveIO (whether synced by you or discovered from public data) remain visible on the public leaderboard by default. You can hide individual characters from your settings page, or set your entire profile to private. Full self-service deletion is on our roadmap and not yet available; until then, email support@delveio.dev to request deletion and we will complete it within 30 days.
Intellectual property
- DelveIO source code, site design, and branding belong to the project's operator.
- Character names, realm names, class names, and other World of Warcraft game content remain the property of Blizzard Entertainment. We display them under fair-use and community-tool conventions.
- Your DelveIO score is a value we compute from the Blizzard data you authorize us to fetch, or from publicly available Blizzard sources. The score itself is derivative; the underlying character data remains yours to the extent it is yours under Blizzard's terms.
- The DelveIO addon is our copyrighted work. You may install and use it freely. You may not redistribute a modified version under the DelveIO name or in a way that implies we made or endorsed the modified version.
- Embedded libraries used by the addon (such as LibStub and LibDBIcon) are distributed under their respective open-source licenses. Their authors retain their copyrights.
The addon
The DelveIO addon is free to install and use. It does not transmit any data from your computer. It reads a local database file shipped inside each addon release, which is generated nightly on our backend from data synced through the website and from publicly discovered characters.
We distribute the addon through CurseForge under Overwolf's CurseForge Project License. Your right to use the addon in the game is independent of your website account.
Service availability
DelveIO is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee:
- That the website or addon will be available at any given time
- That the leaderboard will always reflect the most recent Battle.net state
- That the scoring logic will never change (we may update it as the game changes or as we improve it)
- That synced data will be complete or error-free, given Blizzard's API is the upstream source and subject to its own delays and outages
We try to keep the service reliable and correct, but we are not liable for disruptions, stale data, or calculation changes that affect your ranking.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of DelveIO
- We are not liable for anything that happens to your Battle.net or World of Warcraft account, including suspensions, bans, lost progress, or disputes with Blizzard
- We are not liable for the behavior of other users or players who use information shown on the leaderboard or in the addon
- If we are found liable for anything, our total liability to you will not exceed the amount you paid us in the preceding twelve months, which for the free service is zero
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages. In those jurisdictions, these limitations apply to the maximum extent the law allows.
Termination
You can stop using DelveIO at any time. Disconnecting your account from the settings page removes your access, and you can request full data deletion as described above.
We can suspend or terminate your access to DelveIO at our discretion if you violate these terms, abuse the service, or put other users or the service at risk. Where practical we will try to notify you and explain, but we are not required to.
Terms that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, limitation of liability, governing law, and similar) will survive.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Updates are posted at www.delveio.dev/terms with a new "Last updated" date. We review these terms at least once per year regardless of whether anything changes, so the "Last updated" date is always a meaningful signal.
For material changes, we will post a notice on the home page or in an addon release before the change takes effect, and we may require you to explicitly re-accept the updated terms on your next sign-in. Continued use of the service after a non-material change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from these terms or from your use of DelveIO will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Missouri, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
Nothing in this section deprives you of any consumer protection you may have under the mandatory law of your place of residence.
General
Severability. If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect, and the unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable while preserving its intent.
Entire agreement. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the complete agreement between you and DelveIO regarding the service and supersede any prior discussions or understandings.
Assignment. You may not transfer or assign your rights under these terms to anyone else. We may transfer or assign our rights and obligations to a successor, including in connection with a sale, merger, or similar transfer of DelveIO. We will give reasonable notice on the website or in an addon release before any such transfer takes effect.
No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision of these terms on any occasion, that does not waive our right to enforce it later.
